I’ve been studying Matthew 6:25-34 (“take no thought…”) for a sermon I’ll be preaching soon and what you wrote about her not worrying about making money is beautiful in light of what Jesus said. Little ones don’t have to be told to trust in God’s gracious, daily supplying. I guess that’s why it’s good to be childlike. Beautiful poem.
My three and a half-er is growing so fast. Her brother is almost six. There are many challenges, but I never want to forget these moments. It’s such a privilege to be such a big part of their world. It’s thrilling to see their world expand and watch them encounter new things, but oh, it is sad to feel my proportion in it shrink. Your poem prompted me to pray about how my greetings to them, in all ages and stages, might communicate how precious they are to me.
What a sweet poem, Rachel! I hope someday Hildegaard realizes how richly blessed she is to have a mother who writes such heartwarming pieces about her. What an incredible gift you are giving her through your writing.

You capture her sweetness so beautifully. She will be thankful for it.
This is beautiful Rachel, those last few words struck me hard.
Thank you, friend!
