My new favorite poem of yours. Thank you for writing from your heart, your life, in your voice. Your poems accompany my heart and give me solace at just the right moments. May God richly bless you and your family!!

So many of those Red Sea moments...

One was the way God opened the way through a bureaucratic nightmare in a Ecuadorian gov't office allowing us to open a Christian school in an impoverished barrio of the city where there were no gov't or not for profit schools. We had no idea what we were doing but we pushed ahead and almost 30 years later the school continues blessing the lives of the families in the area. That was God's doing.

Rachel, you have a way of opening our eyes to see the holy among the mundane and beauty shining forth from ashes. You evoke worship in our road-weary hearts. Please keep writing.

Oh for eyes to see and ears to hear.

Powdered donut dust choked me up. Thank you for sharing.

This is such a beautiful, unique description of the Christian life. I love the picture of the dust devils. And holy hypocrites...

I cried. I remembered and I cried a little more. I mourn and then I laughed at the thought of powdered sugar across the lap of Jesus' robe as a child ran to him just to sit there. It is a great visual.

Amen😭

I had a Red Sea miracle moment in January. After three long years of marriage to my American husband and a stressful immigration process, my green card was approved.

That might not seem like a big deal, but the way it happened—how God gave us favor with the officer who interviewed us, the security guards who let us into the office even though we didn’t have an appointment notice (it got lost in the mail), and the fact that the officer approved my case right in front of us—was a miracle.

The prayer of my heart as my husband drove us to the USCIS office was that the Lord would part the Red Sea before me, and He did. After what felt like three years of silence, He finally did.

I will tell my children and grandchildren this story over and over. Of how the Lord made a way for me in a foreign country. Of how He taught me to trust Him even when I didn’t understand. Of how He showed me He was WORTH my trust.

Rosa! That is the best.... you've been on my mind ever since our Christmas time coffee convo. God is so faithful.

Amen Rosa. He SO IS (worthy of our trust). And that, not only when things eventually work out well for us, but EVEN WHEN there are downturns -- those WILL come, too -- and all looks like an abysmal failure or loss or some huge drastic 'mistake' on His part. Even then, trust Him. Never stop! HE IS WORTHY!!

All praises to the slain, and standing, Lamb - Christ Jesus.

This is lovely, we all have our Red Sea crossings. Our son died in 2023, I am slowly emerging from the parted waters, wondering what direction God will send me next. Blessings to you and your family Rachel.
