I read this as "Sticking with then HUBBY you already started" and it spoke to my soul.

Hah! I should have added that one for real. Choosing your spouse every day. Even after 50 years.

Thanks Rachel for reminding us to be content in our earthly homes while we restlessly await our heavenly home.

Such a great reminder! Contentment comes from changing your perspective, not your situation. ❤️

I look forward to your words every time they hit my inbox. Thank you for this nudge towards contentment, with all the wrestling and wanting for heaven that goes with it.

“homesick for Heaven”

I needed to be reminded of patient endurance.

Good word! God leads us on different paths and “quiet quitting” may actually be what God is leading you to do in cases of a career or job. We are completely dependent on God’s wisdom and grace. I have found more contentment after changing careers and I see God’s leading on my life, bringing me to His safe space of healing and peace. My drivenness was actually the problem, and His grace is enough. Different seasons of life have different challenges. Thanks for sharing!

I love the way you put that - rather than changing our circumstances, we can change our perspective. my husband and I have been dreaming of a third bedroom and a yard for our pups and praying over timing for another baby while at maximum capacity in our little two bedroom condo. but this year He's been so faithful to us as we've rooted ourselves deeper in our church community, established our "village," as my husband lovingly calls the friends we do life with, started and grown my husband's new business, ushered in toddler-hood with our youngest, experienced breakthroughs with my writing. we're completely and utterly blessed right where we are, and sometimes I could use a reminder. thank you.

Love this piece, Rachel! You're a person that makes me think "If only we lived in the same town..."

I love this-I fall into the “if only” trap too. But when I do that I miss the blessing of God’s generous provision and that he provides what we need, not necessarily what we want. There is always something else to want for-the only thing worth wanting more of is a deeper walk with Christ. Thank you for this beautiful reminder!

Rachel this writing is beautiful. So many lines I read and internally said “yup!” or “ugh, so true” making this kind of face 😑

I also love the idea of writing to your kiddo. Might have to steal that idea. I make up it hits different than just writing to a broad audience?

Thank you, Blake! Oh yes. It gives me so much inspiration, thinking about what I want to pass on to the most precious little girl in the world. And there is no end to that inspiration!
