Summers With Kids
The best thing I think is
sharing tangerines in the shade
in that spot where the dandelions
have taken over with their riot of
yellow, haze of fluff white, and
impossible roots. I peel one piece
of fruit after another and the juice
runs down our hands and wrists.
And why not? The sun does not shine
forever in this place. So we must live
with all our might while it does.
Don’t you think?
And here is a poem from my collection Sometimes Women Lie About Being Okay.
Beautiful.
Love this!
